She has since worked in a variety of settings, including private practice orthopaedics, long-term care, home care and school care. She has taken continuing education courses in a range of orthopaedic disciplines such as acupuncture, the Thoracic Ring Approach, trigger point dry needling and Active Release Technique. She has completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training certification and loves to incorporate yoga into her practice as a method of healing.
Shelagh has since blended her strong interest in women’s health with the practice of yoga – she runs a Postpartum Yoga Program to facilitate the recovery of new Moms. To further develop her expertise in assessing and treating post-natal women, she has completed an internal pelvic floor course for treating female urinary incontinence, as well as other pelvic floor dysfunction common in the post-natal period. Shelagh’s passion lies in facilitating health and healing by enabling her clients to take an active role in their wellness and/or recovery journey.
In her spare time, Shelagh enjoys travelling, yoga, hiking, cross-country and downhill skiing, as well as road cycling.
