Shelagh Haynes, PT

Shelagh graduated from Queen’s University in 2009 with her Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy. While at Queen’s, her student clinical placements took her from Moose Factory, Ontario to London, UK. She has since worked in a variety of settings, including private practice, long-term care, home care and school care. She has taken continuing education courses in a range of orthopedic disciplines such as Mulligan “mobilization with movement” techniques, therapeutic taping, Pilates for health professionals, acupuncture, and trigger point dry needling. She has recently completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training certification and plans to incorporate yoga into her practice as a method of healing. Shelagh’s passion lies in facilitating health and healing by enabling her clients to take an active role in their wellness and/or recovery journey.
In her spare time, Shelagh enjoys yoga, boxing, and running along the canal. She is also an avid traveler, having recently returned from visiting China and India where she studied yoga and volunteered in a children’s treatment centre. She is currently training to run in the 2013 Reykjavik Marathon as a member of Team Diabetes, raising funds for the Canadian Diabetes Association.
