OC3 now offering YOGA
In keeping with its holistic healing approach, OC3 is now offering yoga as an adjunct to traditional rehabilitation services, with the goal of helping our clients achieve optimal health outcomes. We believe that yoga can serve as a medium for healing in the context of conventional rehabilitation by blending ancient health wisdom with new age knowledge of multidisciplinary health management.
Small group yoga therapy classes, led by Shelagh Haynes, registered physiotherapist and certified yoga instructor, provide the space and professional guidance to safely and effectively perform the prescribed active exercises between physiotherapy/chiropractic/massage therapy sessions necessary to maximize treatment outcomes.
Three levels of drop-in yoga classes are available to our current/past clients, starting the week of September 8th:
- HEALING YOGA (Mondays 12:15-1:15pm)
o appropriate for those seeking to manage acute and chronic conditions; rehabilitate an injury, or the effects of disease or disability, with therapeutic exercises
- WELLNESS YOGA (Mondays 4:00-5:00pm)
o appropriate for promoting optimal mobility, physical activity and overall health; preventing disease, injury or disabilit
- PERFORMANCE YOGA (class time TBD)
o appropriate for athletes looking to improve and maintain optimal physical performance; as well as prevent injury and optimize recovery
No previous yoga experience required.
